Hundreds of Volunteers Set to Beautify Parks and Neighborhoods
Saturday’s Community Clean Team Workday One of the Biggest of the Year


San Francisco, CA - More than 400 volunteers are expected to join Board of Supervisors President London Breed and Public Works’ crews on Saturday for a summer spruce up of the Haight, Western Addition, the Inner Sunset and other District 5 neighborhoods, as well as the east end of Golden Gate Park.

When: Saturday, July 18, 2015; 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  
Kickoff: 9 a.m., Golden Gate Park (Stanyan and Waller streets)

Photo opportunities:

  • Planting medians at Geary and Webster streets
  • Planting trees on the east end of Golden Gate Park 
  • Landscaping rain gardens on Fell and Oak streets 
  • Beautifying Alvord Lake, the Panhandle and Alamo Square
  • Sprucing up Fillmore Street (from McAllister to Post streets)

Now marking its 15th anniversary, Community Clean is San Francisco Public Works’ largest and longest-running volunteer program. Saturday’s event is the seventh of 11 Community Clean Team volunteer workdays for the 2015 season. To learn more, visit sfpublicworks.org/volunteer.
