PRESS RELEASE: UN Plaza is Jumping This Week - 10/21/15

San Francisco, CA – Public Works, in partnership with Market Street Association, will be hosting two free events this week in UN Plaza at Eighth and Market streets.

On Thursday, Oct. 22, ART NIGHT SF brings galleries, museums, arts nonprofits and independent artists together in UN Plaza to bring art to the people. To add excitement, there will be a grand finale art prize. A panel of Bay Area art-world professionals will serve as judges. The contest is free and open to the public -- anyone can bring their art project, object or performance (as long as it’s on their person and mobile). A $2,000 prize is on the line and will be announced live at 8:45 p.m.

On Friday, Oct. 23, the popular Friday Night Market returns, featuring live music, Bay Area artists and vendors, games, Zumba and lots of free fun to UN Plaza. This Friday will be extra special for children, as City Grazing brings its lovable goats to the plaza. Where else can you find goats and bubble ball along with cocktails and great food in the heart of an urban neighborhood?

Between a glowing City Hall and twinkling string lights, the events offer a magical nighttime experience. Both feature food trucks, a full cocktail bar and fun for all ages.
