PUBLIC WORKS TO COMPLETE MAINTENANCE TO THE LEFTY O’DOUL BRIDGE
Motorists Encouraged To Take Alternate Routes during Work Hours
SAN FRANCISCO, CA—Due to the pending rain this week, the Department of Public Works is postponing maintenance work on the Lefty O’Doul Bridge on 3RD Street, between Berry Street and Terry A. Francois Street, until Monday April 23. The work will include the application of necessary anti-skid coating on the steel decking of the northbound lanes to ensure the continued safe use of the structure. The project is scheduled to begin at 9am Monday, April 23 and complete by 9am on Friday, April 27.
During noted work hours, traffic will be detoured around the bridge and northbound travelers are encouraged to take the 4th Street Bridge as an alternate route. Traffic controllers and signage will be available to direct motorists and bicyclists. Southbound traffic lanes will continue to stay open to traffic and pedestrian travel will not be affected.
