COMMUNITY CLEAN TEAM CREW TO BE OUT IN FORCE ON SATURDAY
Volunteers to Beautify Parks, Streets and Schools
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – More than 200 volunteers are expected to join Public Works and other City agencies on Saturday at the Community Clean Team workday event to beautify and clean coastal parks, schools and streets in Hunters Point, Dogpatch and other District 10 neighborhoods.

Time: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. (speaking program starts at 9 a.m.)
Location: Kickoff at Heron’s Head Park (Cargo Way at Jennings Street)
Who: Community volunteers and City crews
Community Clean Team is Public Works’ largest and longest-running volunteer program. Established in 2000, Community Clean Team has since logged more than 165,000 volunteer hours, added more than 33,500 plants to public spaces and removed more than 3.5 million square feet of graffiti. The monthly volunteer events are a joyful and rewarding experience for participants to plant trees, remove weeds, landscape medians, abate graffiti, and pick up litter to make our neighborhoods shine. Participants share in a communal meal at the end of the workday. Photo opportunities at Saturday’s event include:

Sprucing up Warm Water Cove at the eastern end of 24th Street

Removing trash from Tunnel Top Park, 25th and Pennsylvania streets

Cleaning up the grounds at George Washington Carver Elementary School and Gloria Davis Middle School
