Partnering Summit 2014
On February 27, 2014, more than 300 contractors, City department leaders and construction industry executives joined Mayor Edwin M. Lee to officially kick off San Francisco’s partnering program. Partnering brings contractors and City departments together to foster better communication and build trust. Successful partnering delivers projects on time and on budget, with the highest quality, and increases job satisfaction and safety. With more than $25 billion of City projects coming up over the next 10 years, the goal is to work better together.
San Francisco is the first city in the nation to enact a citywide partnering program to create common working relationships across all City departments, for all types of construction projects. Partnering creates solid working relationships and prepares project teams for the challenges of working through complex issues in a highly productive and collaborative way.

Mission
San Francisco Public Works is one of the largest and most complex municipal operations in the City, with a 1,600-member workforce and a $384 million annual operating budget. The department's active capital project portfolio exceeds $3 billion. As one of San Francisco oldest City departments, it is also one of the most forward-thinking. Keeping San Francisco beautiful, safe and sustainable.
