Stuart Parmenter brings over 26 years of professional experience in the technology sector. He most recently served as Chief Technology Officer at One Medical, where he led the company’s technology organization through rapid growth, an Initial Public Offering, and eventual integration into Amazon. He previously co-founded Rise, a digital health startup focused on personalized coaching, which became One Medical’s first acquisition. Earlier in his career, he contributed to shaping core internet infrastructure at Mozilla and Netscape.
Stuart is deeply passionate about solving real-world problems, believes strongly in accountability, and brings a pragmatic, data-informed approach to oversight—with an emphasis on measurable impact, service quality, and operational transparency.
He is honored to serve alongside his fellow commissioners in supporting and holding accountable the City agencies responsible for maintaining San Francisco’s public rights of way.
Stuart has lived in San Francisco for nearly 20 years, much of that in the Mission District. He is committed to helping make the city an even better place to live and raise a family.
Commissioner Parmenter was appointed by Mayor Daniel Lurie to Commission seat 1. His term ends July 1, 2028.
