San Francisco Public Works hired Hernandez Engineering to complete the Fern Street West Improvements Project. The project limits were Fern Street between Polk Street and Van Ness Avenue. Construction began in April 2022 and was completed in October 2022.
The Joice Alley Light Improvement Project installed new pedestrian-scale street lights and all electrical conduit, electrical services, sidewalk restoration while maintaining historic alphabet concrete tablets and minor roadway restoration required on Joice Alley, between Clay St and Sacramento St in Chinatown. This is a high traffic alleyway and an important pedestrian path for the young and old in the San Francisco's Chinatown neighborhood.
Jefferson Street is the "main street" of San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf, a global destination for locals and tourists alike. Construction of the first phase, two blocks from Hyde Street to Jones Street, was completed in June 2013. Phase II of the Jefferson Streetscape Improvements Project completes the remaining three blocks of the streetscape design on Jefferson Street, from Jones Street east to Powell Street.
The Joe DiMaggio Playground is a two-acre park with a children’s play area, tennis courts, bocce courts, pool building and sports courts. It sits directly next to the newly constructed North Beach Library and will transform one block of Mason Street from a street with vehicular traffic into a public park space. This project will reorganize and renovate all portions of the park, including:
The Kearny Streetscape Improvement Project will be a redesign of Kearny Street, from Broadway to Vallejo streets, and will include landscape elements and replacement of the road surface.
