Public Works Hearing 1-20-2021

In accordance with Gov. Gavin Newsom’s statewide order for all residents to shelter in place and the numerous local and State proclamations, orders and supplemental directions regarding the COVID-19 virus, Public Works hearings are held through videoconferencing and will provide for remote public comment.

As the COVID-19 virus situation evolves, please visit the Public Works website (sfpublicworks.org) regularly to be updated on the current situation as it affects public hearings and the department.

Persons unable to participate in the videoconference may submit written comments regarding the subject matter to Bureau of Urban Forestry at 49 South Van Ness Ave. Suite 1000 San Francisco CA 94103 or urbanforestry@sfdpw.org. Comments received before the hearing will be brought to the attention of the hearing officer and made a part of the official public record.

Individuals who wish to speak at the hearing and who want to use materials such as PowerPoint files, documents and photo images in their presentations must send the materials to Bureau of Urban Forestry via email at urbanforestry@sfdpw.org by 5 p.m. the business day before the hearing. To consider removal of five (5) hazard street trees at the following addresses:

2641 Franklin St one (1) tree #1 56 Cervantes St one (1) tree #1 273 Pixley St one (1) tree #1 (these three (3) trees will be replaced)

1572 Union St one (1) tree #1 2360 Fillmore St one (1) tree #3

(these two (2) trees will not be replaced because they do not meet our guidelines for replacement trees) removal of one (1) street tree with replacement.  (Staff approved the removal and the public has protested)

To consider removal of two (2) hazard street trees with replacement at the following addresses: 1522 26th Ave. Tree #1 1466 35th Ave. Tree #1

To consider the removal of one (1) hazard street tree(s) with replacement at the following address:1360 Fulton St. Tree #1 (Staff approved the removal and the public has protested)

To consider removal of four (4) hazard street trees at the following addresses:

46 Cragmont Ave. Tree #1 (without replacement; sidewalk too narrow – no other nearby options) “80” Junipero Serra Blvd (nearest address location) Three (3) trees. Tree #6, 8, 10 (located at curb) These trees will be replaced; specific locations may shift depending on overhanging canopies (Staff approved the removal and the public has protested)

To consider removal of two (2) hazard street trees with replacement at the following addresses:  214 Roanoke St. Tree #1 and 458 Alvarado St. Tree #1

(Staff approved the removal and the public has protested)

551 Utah St two (2) trees. Tree #4 and #5 with replacement of both.

(Staff approved the removals and the public has protested)
