Reason(s) for Tree Removal: The Subject tree is a mature street tree located within the public right of way adjacent to a residential sidewalk, curb cut, and underground utility infrastructure. The tree has a well established trunk with a constrained root zone due to surrounding hardscape, including concrete sidewalk panels, curb, and underground utilities. The tree roots have caused surface and significant uplift causing cracking and displacement of sidewalk panels. The concrete is uneven and fractured, creating a trip and fall hazard for the pedestrians in this location. The water box is displaced and root pruning required to reset the meter, which is damaged, will destabilize the tree. The site is not not replantable and the replacement will be relocated.
