Various Locations Curb Ramps and Sub-Sidewalk Basements

San Francisco Public Works’ Curb Ramp Program is pleased to announce the Various Locations Curb Ramps and Sub-Sidewalk Basements project.  The project will be implementing various safety and infrastructure improvements, including curb ramp installation, traffic signal improvements, and new pedestrian lighting at Clay Street & Grant Avenue and Sutter Street & Stockton Street. The anticipated duration and scope of work can vary at each location.

Project Update (May 2025)
On Monday May 5th, crews are scheduled to start relining the existing sewer main on 24th Street between Sanchez and Vicksburg streets. The sewer lining phase will require (4) evenings of overnight work. The work hours will be 7 PM to 4 AM.

Jane Warner Plaza Concept Vision

In partnership with District 8 Supervisor Rafael Mandelman’s Office, the San Francisco County Transportation Authority, and SFMTA, SF Public Works Bureau of Landscape Architecture has reimagined the new Jane Warner Plaza as a flexible community space that celebrates the life of the late, beloved community police officer, Jane Warner.

Traffic Signal Modifications Contract #36

San Francisco Public Works has partnered with Bay Area Light Works, Inc. to upgrade traffic signal infrastructure at 14 intersections across San Francisco. The scope of work will include excavation at some of the intersections, new traffic pole installation and electrical conduit work. Some intersections will also include curb ramp installation.

Various Locations Pavement Renovation and Sewer Replacement No. 64

Project Description

San Francisco Public Works and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission have partnered to complete infrastructure improvements on several blocks throughout San Francisco as part of our Various Locations #64 project. Our partnership allows us to minimize impacts to the public by consolidating our work whenever possible. This project may include sewer main replacement/rehabilitation, curb ramp installation, street base repairs, grinding (removal of existing asphalt) and repaving. Not all locations will include sewer main rehabilitation/replacement.

Various Locations Pavement Renovation and Sewer Replacement No. 61

San Francisco Public Works has hired Michael O’Shaughnessy Construction to install new sewer utilities and renovate the roadway as a part of the Various Locations Pavement Renovation and Sewer Replacement Project No. 61 (VL61). We will be performing this work throughout the city. Our collaboration aims to reduce public inconvenience by efficiently coordinating our efforts whenever possible.

Construction Updates


7/19/24: As of today, we have reached substantial completion on this project. This means that all planned paving, sewer, curb ramp and sidewalk has been completed, and we are now entering the closeout phase of the project. During the closeout phase, all work is re-inspected and minor fixes are performed by our contractor wherever necessary.
