
Kimberlee Hartwig-Schulman

Kimberlee Hartwig-Schulman is a non-profit professional with significant experience in keeping public spaces clean in San Francisco. At SoMa West Community Benefit District (CBD), Hartwig-Schulman served as the Administrative Services Manager from 2020 to 2023 and the Human Resources Manager from 2023 to 2025, working closely with the Operations Director and Street Ambassadors, who maintain the streets' cleanliness within the CBD's boundaries. Previously at the Lower Polk Community Benefit District from 2016-2020, Hartwig-Schulman managed the street maintenance program and street ambassadors whose responsibilities were removing debris and sweeping the sidewalk, pressure washing, graffiti removal, and tree maintenance. Prior to that, Hartwig-Schulman was employed at Larkin Street Youth Services from 2008-2016 in the Finance and Human Resources departments. At Larkin Street Youth Services, Hartwig-Schulman learned a lot about those experiencing homelessness, the obstacles they face daily, and ways to help them get housing and jobs.
Hartwig-Schulman has been a member of Lower Polk Neighbors since 2010 and has been a board member in previous years as Secretary (2010), Treasurer (2011,2012 and 2014), and Membership (2013-2016). Hartwig-Schulman volunteered at Larkin Street Youth Services 2010-2013 in the evening for the Fruity Wednesday Program, which catered to the LGBTQ community.
Hartwig-Schulman has lived in San Francisco for 23 years; 22 of those years have been in the Lower Polk/Tenderloin neighborhood.
Commissioner Hartwig-Schulman was appointed by the Board of Supervisors. Commissioner Hartwig-Schulman serves in Seat 5: Experience in cleaning and maintaining public spaces. Commissioner Hartwig-Schulman’s term ends July 1, 2026.
