DPW Partners with DRE to Build a Modern Work Order Management System
DPW and DRE are set to begin the implementation of the Computerized Maintenance Management System / Enterprise Asset Management (CMMS/EAM). CMMS/EAM strives to replace many of the asset inventory and work order management systems used by DRE and the DPW Bureaus. The web-based software solution that was selected, Infor EAM, is an industry leader in asset and maintenance management, and is successfully utilized by several major municipalities.
Beginning in November, a Core Team of DPW and DRE staff will work with DPW IT and the software vendors to implement the CMMS/EAM solution for both departments. The solution will provide:
" Consolidation of asset information such as buildings, streets, trees, and roadway structures, etc.;
" A tool for effective communication between client departments and the coordination of resources to address these requests;
" Insight into ways to improve asset lifespan and decrease total cost of ownership of assets.
CMMS/EAM is a key factor in DPW's delivery of service and supports one of the major goals within the DPW Strategic Plan: To create and maintain beautiful, highly functional and sustainable facilities.
Special thanks to Robert Carlson, Matt Smyth, Ephrem Naizghi and Jaime Flores-Lovo for their vision and direction.
