DPW TO CLOSE

24TH STREET (MISSION to VALENCIA)

7AM, Wed., July 12 to 5PM, Fri., July 14

Starting 7AM, Wednesday, the Department of Public Works (DPW) will close 24th Street, from Mission to Valencia, to allow its crews to reconstruct part of 24th Street near the Bartlett intersection. Traffic will be detoured onto 25th Street. Pedestrian access will not be affected.

Orange Alley, Bartlett Street and Osage Alley, streets perpendicular to 24th Street, will remain open. Access to and from Orange will be available from 25th Street only. Drivers will be able to access Bartlett, a one-way northbound street, at 25th Street and will be able to cross the Bartlett-24th Street intersection. Only local residents will be allowed onto Osage, a one-way southbound alley, from 24th Street.

MUNI bus lines will also be detoured. The MUNI #48 Quintara-24th Street line, in both directions, will be detoured onto 23rd Street, between Mission and Valencia. The MUNI #67 Bernal Heights line that usually makes its outbound and inbound loops on 24th Street will also be sent to use 23rd Street. MUNI will temporarily relocate the affected #48 and #67 bus stops in the area. Riders should check signs at the existing bus stops for more information.

To help MUNI travel through the detour route in a timely manner, left turns will not be allowed on Mission Street at the 24th and 23rd streets intersections.

DPW expects to reopen 24th Street by 5PM, Friday, July 14.
