LARKIN STREET (McAllister to Golden Gate)
SEWER WORK MAY CAUSE TRAFFIC CONGESTION
Starting tomorrow, October 17, 2006
(SAN FRANCISCO) Excavations to replace the sewer main on Larkin Street, between McAllister Street and Golden Gate Avenue, are expected to cause delays for motorists traveling northbound on Larkin Street and around the Civic Center.
Beginning tomorrow, a contractor hired by the Department of Public Works (DPW), will close the center lanes of Larkin Street for the sewer project. Although drivers will be able to pass, vehicles will be diverted to use the curb lanes for travel.
The partial street closure will take place from 9AM to 3PM, Mondays to Fridays, for the next four to six weeks. Larkin Street will be open for all usual traffic at other times, including the weekends.
Motorists heading north on Larkin Street could use Van Ness Avenue or Leavenworth Street, as alternatives. Drivers using McAllister and on Golden Gate should also expect delays when construction is at the intersections.
