Diamond Heights Boulevard Improvements Project

San Francisco Public Works is making improvements along Diamond Heights Boulevard between Portola and Sussex streets to improve pedestrian safety and stormwater management. The project includes pavement renovation, curb construction, sidewalk replacement, and sewer and water managment improvements. The work will be completed in a series of phases, see the sample sequence below:

  • Phase 1: sidewalk installation and new ADA curb ramps
  • Phase 2: Water line replacement
  • Phase 3: Guardrail replacement and installation
  • Phase 4: Sewer line replacement
  • Phase 5: Roadway paving

Completed Curb Ramp Intersections:

  • Arbor Street
  • Addison Street
  • Diamond Street
  • Carnelian Way

Water Work Completed:

  • 90% complete on the Duncan and Carlelian stretch

Work Plan for the Next Two Months

  • Curb ramp installations on Clipper St. (May)
  • Sidewalk replacement from N. Duncan to Safria streets (May)
  • Water work from Berkeley to Addison streets (May/June)
  • Retaining wall installations from Gold Mine to Berkeley streets and Berkeley to Arbor streets (May/June)
  • Bus pad installations (May-July)
  • Curb ramp installations on N. Berkeley and S. Berkeley streets (June/July)
  • Shopping center crosswalk installation (June/July)​

For Your Information

The contractor will generally work one block at a time to minimize any disruptions to to area residents. Since we have several locations under this contract, it may be weeks or months before we start construction on your block. You will be notified approximately 2 weeks ahead of time with specific construction dates.

Traffic Impacts

Please observe the "no-parking" signs. Access to driveways will be provided at all times. Delays may occur while crews create a path for vehicles. Please allow extra travel time during construction.
