Project Description:
San Francisco Public works has hired Michael O'Shaughnessy Construction Inc. to carry out pavement renovation and sewage replacement throughout the city. This project is part of Various Locations Pavement Renovation and Sewage Replacement Project No. 79. Much of this work will involve grinding (removing existing asphalt), concrete road base reconstruction, ADA compliant curb ramp reconstruction, and sewer work.
San Francisco Public Works has partnered with Esquivel Grading & Paving, Inc. to perform vital infrastructure improvements along Beale Street Street between Market Street and Folsom Street. Construction on this project is scheduled to begin in late Summer 2025 and reach completion in Summer 2026.
With the support of Supervisor Matt Dorsey, the Bureau of Landscape Architecture is leading a grant-funded planning effort to create a new park space in the South of Market (SoMa) neighborhood. The study will examine the potential of the underutilized right-of-way between 4th and 6th streets and Harrison and Bryant streets to address several long-standing challenges in SoMa, including flooding, unsafe pedestrian and bicycle routes, and the disproportionate impacts of the urban heat island effect and air pollution on community health.
