Kimberlee Hartwig-Schulman has been employed at SoMa West Community Benefit District (CBD) since 2020. As the Administrative Services Manager, Hartwig-Schulman works closely with the Operations Director and Street Ambassadors, who maintain the streets' cleanliness within the CBD's boundaries. Hartwig-Schulman was previously at the Lower Polk Community Benefit District from 2016-2020, and from 2016 to 2018, where Hartwig-Schulman managed the street maintenance program and street ambassadors whose responsibilities were removing debris and sweeping the sidewalk, pressure washing, graffiti removal, and tree maintenance. Prior to that, Hartwig-Schulman was employed at Larkin Street Youth Services from 2008-2016 in the Finance and Human Resources departments. At Larkin Street Youth Services, Hartwig-Schulman learned a lot about those experiencing homelessness, the obstacles they face daily, and ways to help them get housing and jobs. 
 
Hartwig-Schulman has been a member of Lower Polk Neighbors since 2010 and has been a board member in previous years as Secretary (2010), Treasurer (2011,2012 and 2014), and Membership (2013-2016). Hartwig-Schulman volunteered at Larkin Street Youth Services 2010-2013 in the evening for the Fruity Wednesday Program, which catered to the LGBTQ community.  
 
Hartwig-Schulman has lived in San Francisco for 20 years; 19 of those years have been in the Lower Polk/Tenderloin neighborhood. 
 
Commissioner Hartwig-Schulman was appointed by the Board of Supervisors. Commissioner Hartwig-Schulman serves in Seat 5: Experience in cleaning and maintaining public spaces. Commissioner Hartwig-Schulman’s term ends July 1, 2026.
