FRANKLIN STREET INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS UNDER WAY

Motorists may experience delays during weekday work hours due to lane closures

San Francisco, CA – Construction crews have begun work on a major roadway improvement and underground utility project on Franklin Street, one of the City’s busiest one-way arterials.

The project limits are northbound Franklin Street between Page and Francisco streets. The work includes water main and sewer main replacement on several blocks, street base repairs and construction of more than 140 curb ramps to improve accessibility. The 46-block paving project will require 6,000 tons of new asphalt, covering more than 500,000 sq. ft.

Construction on Franklin Street will continue through November 2014. The expected work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Motorists should expect delays on Franklin Street during construction hours due to traffic lane closures, and may want to consider alternate routes.
