NATIONAL CONFERENCE ATTENDEES TOUR SAN FRANCISCO’S CUTTING EDGE COMMUNITY GARDENS

Urban Agriculture Policies, Sustainable Gardening Strategies, Grassroots Cultivating All Highlighted on 3rd Day of American Community Gardening Association Conference

San Francisco, Ca. – Greenthumbs, contemporary gardeners, ecology activists and cutting edge environmental leaders from all over the country are touring San Francisco to see all that it has to offer as a part of the 33rd Annual American Community Gardening Association Conference, hosted in partnership with the Department of Public Works (DPW).

Devoted enthusiasts will travel around to dozens of spots by bus, by bicycle and by foot to explore the innovative greenways and thriving public spaces in San Francisco. More than 300 people have signed up to spend four days in the City, participating in state-of-the-art, hands-on workshops, cooking classes, and learn about best practices and the importance of transforming public spaces into functional, shared gardens.

The guided tours highlight San Francisco’s distinctive urban community gardens around the City in neighborhoods, parks, schools and green spaces. A complete list of tours and descriptions, along with detailed conference information can be found at sfdpw.org.
