Report a Problem

Graffiti

• Public Works will paint out graffiti on public property and notify other agencies and private property owners, so they can quickly remove it. Call 911 to report graffiti in progress, report graffiti online, use the mobile SF311 app or call 311.

• If you have photos of graffiti vandalism and tagging in your neighborhood, we can upload them into our database and forward them to the San Francisco Police Department. You can upload your images by sending us an email to zerograffiti@sfdpw.org along with details about the location and date/time.

Garbage and Waste

• To report:
  • illegal dumping
  • improperly disposed of needles and medical waste
  • human waste in the public right of way

  you can visit 311 online, use the mobile SF311 app or call 311. Our goal is to remove waste that is our responsibility within 48 hours during week days. An action plan will be developed for projects that require more than 48 hours to address. Before you call, please determine the street address and the nearest cross-street where the waste is located. 

Potholes

• Report a pothole online, use the mobile SF311 app or call 311. Our goal is to repair any pothole that is our responsibility within 48 hours during week days. An action plan will be developed for projects that require more than 48 hours to address. Before you call, please determine the street address and the nearest cross-street where the pothole is located. 

Trees

• Report fallen trees or limbs online, the mobile SF311 app or call 311. Before you contact us, please determine the street address and the nearest cross-street where the fallen tree or limb is located.
