2024 Healthy, Safe and Vibrant San Francisco Bond
Funding key health and shelter infrastructure, street safety and road repaving and public space improvements across San Francisco
The City and County of San Francisco’s $390 million Healthy, Safe and Vibrant Bond on the November 2024 ballot will support capital improvements to City facilities and infrastructure. The bond will improve and expand community medical, mental health and shelter facilities; invest in hospital infrastructure; make seismic upgrades to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital; increase available emergency shelter for homeless families, children and adults; make street safety improvements and repave roads; and renovate public spaces.
What the bond will do

Expand and strengthen Public Health
Invest resources to ensure safe, resilient and accessible public health infrastructure.
Dedicated funds to renovate and expand the Chinatown Public Health Center, relocate City Clinic and make critical repairs to Zuckerberg General Hospital (ZSFG) and Laguna Honda Hospital (LHH) to ensure the City’s two largest public health institutions remain operational and in regulatory compliance. -
Support Homeless Families
Dedicate funding to address the increasing need for family housing and shelter.
Dedicated funds for family housing and shelter, including potential site acquisition or renovation. -
Deliver Street Safety
Invest in our street infrastructure by delivering street safety projects and road repaving.
Dedicated funds for traffic safety and road design improvements, such as the intersection improvements at Sloat Boulevard to improve traffic circulation after the Great Highway Extension closure while ensuring safer access to the San Francisco Zoo. It also includes funding for street and sidewalk designs for a safer experience along City sidewalks, intersections and streets. -
Improve and Revitalize Community Spaces
Make improvements to civic spaces to provide welcoming gathering spaces for the public.
Dedicated funds to improve San Francisco’s civic spaces. This includes renovation of Harvey Milk Plaza with accessibility improvements and security upgrades along with the improvement to Downtown public spaces, including Hallidie Plaza.
The 2024 Healthy, Safe and Vibrant San Francisco Bond will increase space for mental and behavioral health services and shelter, while providing a safer and improved experience of traveling throughout the City.
