Project Information
DPW and PG&E are partnering together to expedite construction along San Bruno Avenue, South Van Ness, and Mission Street. The goal is to minimize any impacts to area residents and businesses by consolidatng our work when possible.
In December 2010, PG&E began work on upgrading the gas facilities along San Bruno Ave., South Van Ness Ave., and Mission Street. This project is part of PG&E's multi-year Gas Pipeline Replacement Project and is just part of PG&E's $600 million investment in San Francisco to make the system safer and more reliable. Existing gas pipes in the streets and those that connect to homes/businesses will be replaced with modern new piping that is more resistant to corrosion and earthquakes. Once PG&E completes work on the block, DPW will repave the street. Our engineers have inspected the blocks and have determined they are suitable candidates for street resurfacing. As part of DPW's work, crews have built new ADA curb ramps at the intersections.
