COMMUNITY CLEAN TEAM TO SPRUCE UP THE BAYVIEW

The City’s Largest Regular Neighborhood Cleanup Event Focuses on the Bayview Hunter’s Point Community

San Francisco, Ca. – The Department of Public Works is joining Mayor Lee, Supervisor Malia Cohen, the San Francisco 49ers, and 300 enthusiastic volunteers in the City’s Bayview neighborhoods to clean and green with community and environmental improvement projects.

Volunteers will work on tree care, landscaping projects, remove weeds and overgrown vegetation, paint over graffiti, and help clean up litter around the neighborhoods. This is the sixth Community Clean Team event of the year. The San Francisco 49ers organization provided the meeting space at 700 Jamestown Avenue and will provide lunch for the volunteers.

The Community Clean Team is one of the largest regular neighborhood cleanup events in San Francisco. The volunteer program partners city agencies with residents, merchants and students to clean and beautify neighborhoods.

Also, in partnership with the Clean City Coalition and Recology, residents living in District 10 will have the opportunity to properly dispose of unwanted household bulky items for FREE starting at 8 am at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School located at 350 Girard Street. More info can be found at sfdpw.org.
