The work to be done under this contract is located at various locations as follows:

• York St from Peralta Ave to Montcalm St
• York St from Montcalm St to Holladay Ave
• Wright St from Montcalm St to Holladay Ave
• Mullen Ave from Franconia St to Montcalm St
• Franconia St from Mullen Ave to End
• Montcalm St from Peralta Ave to Franconia St
• Macedonia St from Montcalm St to Brewster St
• Franconia St from Samoset St to Rutledge St
• Faith St from Holladay Ave to End

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This project will include sewer main replacement/rehabilitation, curb ramp installation, street base repairs, grinding (removal of existing asphalt) and repaving and concrete street reconstruction. Please note, at locations where the concrete roadway is scheduled to be replaced, driveway access may not be possible for several days while the work occurs and the concrete cures. The concrete will need to cure fpor several days in ale to support the weight of vehicles. The project team will coordinate with residents in advance of this work.  

The first phase of work on a block will include sewer main replacement (open-cut) or rehabilitation (lining). Once the new sewer main has been installed or the existing one is lined (rehabilitated), our engineers will review video of the sewer laterals to determine which, if any, need to be replaced. The sewer laterals are the connection between the main and the curb/sidewalk.  color:#333333;font-weight:normal">Note: Sewer laterals are only replaced on an as-needed depending on the condition of the existing line color:#333333;font-weight:normal">. Sewer service will not be interrupted during construction. Please continue to use your household and business plumbing as usual.

Once the sewer work is complete on a block, crews will begin preparations to repave or reconstruct (concrete roadway) a block. For streets with asphalt pavement, preparations will include concrete street base replacement work. This task will require the contractor saw-cut, excavate the broken concrete, and pour fresh cement. Replacing any damaged/broken street base now will help prolong the durability of the new pavement. This may happen at several locations along the block. Preparations can also include installation of curb ramps at 4-way intersections and T-intersections.

The duration of each scope of work per location is as follows:

· Sidewalk Work: 2-3 weeks

· ADA Ramp Upgrades: 2 weeks

· Sewer Work: 4 weeks

· Concrete and AC Roadway Work: 3- 4 weeks

CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE & WORK HOURS

Construction is scheduled to begin in  August 2022 with a total contract duration of 12 months however the specific locations will only be impacted for approximately two to three months spaced out over the year.

Monday through Friday: 7:00 A.M. – 5 P.M.

Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. (Although weekend work is allowed, none has been scheduled at this time.)

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

This scope of work will cause delays in traffic and temporary lane closures. Traffic control plans and flaggers will be in place to help mitigate disruptions in roadways.
