San Francisco — San Francisco Public Works and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) will use a high-tech mapping system to conduct the most complete survey yet of Market Street’s building facades, light poles, BART station portals, sidewalks, fire hydrants and other street features and utilities.
The visual mapping survey is the first step toward doing detailed design work for the Better Market Street project, allowing the team to move from conceptual to detailed designs and then on to construction to improve San Francisco’s premier corridor.
San Francisco, CA – Amid lion dancers and cheering neighbors, Mayor Ed Lee, District 3 Supervisor Julie Christensen, San Francisco Public Works Director Mohammed Nuru, San Francisco Director of Transportation Ed Reiskin and Self-Help for the Elderly President and CEO Anni Chung cut a ceremonial ribbon this afternoon to celebrate the completion of new pedestrian safety improvements in front of the Lady Shaw Senior Center, at the corner of Broadway and Mason streets.
San Francisco, CA – Public Works, in partnership with Market Street Association, will be hosting two free events this week in UN Plaza at Eighth and Market streets.
