Volunteers to Plant Trees and engage in Eco-Fair in Honor of Arbor Day
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The Department of Public Works is inviting residents to volunteer and celebrate Arbor Day with Community Clean Team, a citywide volunteer program that cleans and greens San Francisco. In celebration of Arbor Day, volunteers will plant trees, work on landscaping and gardening projects, paint over graffiti, and remove litter in neighborhoods through-out District One. A ceremonial tree planting and dedication will also take place.
Entertainment includes live music and games for children as well as a barbeque lunch to reward volunteers for their contribution. A highlight of the event will be a Eco Resource Fair, featuring activities such as planter box building, bucket rides, tree pruning workshops, information on recycling and composting, a petting area, and a full schedule of fun family activities.
