CITY CELEBRATES COMPLETION OF IMPROVEMENTS TO SOUTH OF MARKET ALLEYWAYS 

WITH RIBBON CUTTING AT TUTUBI PLAZA

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The San Francisco Redevelopment Agency (the “Agency”), the Department of Public Works, San Francisco Arts Commission, the South of Market Project Area Committee, and the community will celebrate the completion of Phase One of the South of Market Alleyways Improvements Project with a ribbon cutting. Phase One of this program includes the installation of chicanes, raised crosswalks, new street trees and plants, benches, and new textured pavement on the alleyways located between Mission and Folsom Streets and 6th and 7th Streets. In addition to these streetscape improvements, Tutubi Plaza, a small art-adorned plaza located on Russ Street was created as a respite from the activity of Sixth Street and a showcase for a public art piece by Jovi Schnell.
