Over 500 Volunteers to Spruce Up District Four
San Francisco, Ca –San Francisco will wrap up the 2007 Community Clean Team Program with more than 500 volunteers adding the finishing touches to the Sunset District. Residents from the District, students from nearby schools, employees with the City of San Francisco, and community group members will act as volunteers to abate graffiti and litter and work on various landscaping projects throughout the District. The program is highlighted to help beautify the district while making sure the streets, parks, playgrounds, schools and the neighborhoods are clean, green and graffiti free.
The Community Clean Team is led by the Department of Public Works, in conjunction with SF Connect, Recreation and Parks Department, and community groups.
Concurrently, Sunset Scavenger will be offering residents living in the district with the opportunity to recycle, compost, and drop-off bulky household items including furniture, mattresses, computers, yard trimmings, etc. Residents can drive to the following location to drop-off items from 8 am to 12 noon at West Sunset Playground on Quintara Street between 40th & 41st Avenues.
