Volunteers Pitch in to Make Compost from Falling Leaves

San Francisco, Ca – San Francisco volunteers will clean and green parks and streets around San Francisco District Two neighborhoods, including Pacific Heights, Cow Hollow, and the Marina as part of the Department of Public Works last 2009 Community Clean Team event on Saturday, October 17, from 9 am to 12 noon at Alta Plaza Park. DPW is encouraging residents to Turn Brown Leaves Green by putting leaves that end up on the sidewalk in the green bin for composting in order to keep them from going to the landfill.
