Construction to begin on the Great Highway

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The Department of Public Works (DPW) announced that construction will begin on Phase II of emergency work along the Great Highway between Sloat Blvd. and Skyline Blvd.  This phase of work will realign and reopen the roadway to traffic south of Sloat Blvd.  Work will continue through October 2010. 

Phase I of emergency work was completed in April 2010 and included emergency work on a 425-foot rock revetment on the beach to prevent further erosion of the bluffs.
