on Saturday, September 9th, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Traffic expected to be delayed

The Department of Public Works will patch pave the intersection at South Van Ness Avenue and Mission Street on Saturday, September 9th, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Traffic might be delayed due to temporary lane closures. Bus services and pedestrian access will not be affected.

DPW crew will pave sections of the intersection that are in bad condition and hazardous to motorists. In order to complete the work efficiently, crew will close multiple lanes during work hours. The lane closures will alter when work locations are moved. DPW staff and San Francisco Police Department will monitor the traffic flow on site.

Drivers will be able to access South Van Ness Avenue, Mission Street and Otis Street as at least one traffic lane will remain open in each direction at all time. MUNI bus lines will operate normally with extra time to get through traffic. Pedestrians should be able to cross street with caution.

DPW crew will set up traffic control on site at 5 a.m.; paving work will start around 6 a.m. The project is expected to be finished by 10 a.m. Several traffic message boards alerting motorists of possible traffic delay will be displayed near work site and Highway 101 from Friday to Saturday.
