Monterey Blvd Pavement Renovation Phase II

DPW continues construction on the Monterey Blvd. Pavement Renovation Project Phase II. This phase of construction will repave Monterey Blvd. curb-to-curb between Ridgewood Ave. and San Anselmo Ave. and also Santa Clara Avenue between St. Francis Blvd. and Monterey Blvd. DPW will also build curb-ramps at several of the intersections along Monterey Blvd. The new curb-ramps will ease pedetrian travel in the area. The curb-ramp work and any repairs to the street base will need to be complete before crews repave the block. The street base, which lies underneath the asphalt roadway, will be replaced if sections are damaged or broken. Replacing the damaged street base will allow DPW to maximize the life-expectancy of the new roadway.

In an effort to minimize the impact to area residents, MTA has partnered with DPW to complete work on a traffic calming project along Santa Clara Avenue at the Monterey Blvd. intersection. That work will be completed in conjunction with our project.

In 2007, DPW completed work on Phase I of the Monterey Blvd. Pavement Renovation Project. That project also included construction of curb-ramps and repaved Monterey Blvd. between Circular Ave. and Ridgewood Ave.
