Arguello Bl., Sanchez St., 2nd Avenue and Broderick St. Infrastructure Improvements and Pavement Renovation Project
Project Description
San Francisco Public Works completed infrastructure improvements and pavement renovation in October 2019. The work under this contract included traffic signal upgrades, new ADA curb ramps, new sidewalks, curb and gutter work, bus pad installations, street base repair and paving. The work will occur in various locations including Arguello Boulevard, 2nd Avenue, Sanchez Street and on Broderick Street.
There was additional above ground traffic signal work on Arguello Boulevard from Lake Street to the Balboa/Turk intersection completed in November 2019. Above ground work included electrical connections, pedestrian countdown signals, accessible pedestrian signals, new larger vehicular signal heads, new poles and mast arms, new signal controllers and cabinets at:
- Lake Street
- Sacramento Street
- California Street
- Euclid Street
- Clement Street
- Anza Street and the Balboa/Turk intersection
Phase I - Arguello Boulevard, Lake Street to Fulton Street
New ADA compliant curb ramps constructed. Bus pads installed. Traffic signal work completed. Street base repair and final roadway paving was completed in May 2019.

Phase II - Sanchez Street, 17th Street to Elizabeth
New ADA compliant curb ramps constructed. Street base repair and final roadway paving completed in May 2019.
Phase III - 2nd Avenue, END to Lake, Cornwall to Clement and Cabrillo to Fulton
New ADA compliant curb ramps constructed. Street base repair and final roadway paving completed in May 2019.

Phase IV- Broderick Street, Jackson Street to Geary Boulevard
New ADA compliant curb ramps constructed. We anticipate that final roadway paving will be completed in June 2019.
