District One Community Clean Team

Volunteers spruce up the Richmond District

San Francisco, Ca – More than 250 community volunteers are sprucing up San Francisco's Richmond District today by cleaning Ocean Beach, painting out graffiti on the sea wall, picking up litter on neighboring streets, weeding tree basins and working on landscaping projects on the center islands on Geary and Park Presidio Boulevards. A local Boy Scout troup will also clear ivy and weed paths at the Argonne Community Garden at Fulton Street and Cabrillo Street. The cleanup, which is organized by Community Clean Team, a citywide volunteer program, begins at 9 a.m. at Fulton Street and the Great Highway.

"We are grateful for the generous time given by volunteers to help keep our city clean and make events like this possible and successful, said District 1 Supervisor Jake McGoldrick.

The District One Community Clean Team is presented by the Department of Public Works in partnership with the National Park Service, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department, San Francisco Parks Trust, Green Connect, and the San Francisco Unified School District.
