San Francisco, CA -- The Department of Public Works (DPW) began an intense cleaning and beautification effort in Chinatown this week to help the neighborhood get ready for Chinese New Year festivities to begin later this weekend.

A media tour will be conducted by DPW officials to showcase efforts.

What:  Chinese New Year Cleanup Preparation*

Crews will continue cleaning Chinatown gates, dragon lights, Stockton tunnel and will trim trees, steam clean sidewalks and remove graffiti on the tour.
