Here is what is happening on Folsom Street :
Construction is progressing steadily, with major paving and concrete work continuing through mid-May 2026. The most intensive impacts over the next several weeks will involve sidewalk reconstruction, roadway paving, and intersection upgrades, particularly between 3rd Street and 5th Street.
Segment 3 -Folsom Street 2nd St. to 5th St
Roadway base-repair - 4th Street to 5th Street (Northside).
Roadway base repair restores the structural layer beneath the pavement that supports traffic and prevents surface damage. When the underlying base becomes weakened by water, heavy use, or ground movement, the pavement above it can crack, sink, or develop potholes.
What the work includes
• Identifying areas where the pavement structure has failed
• Removing damaged asphalt or concrete
• Excavating weakened base material
• Installing and compacting new base aggregate
• Repaving the repaired section to match the existing roadway- Sidewalks, Islands & Concrete Work
