Construction Update: Sewer Rehabilitation Work on 8th Street

Overnight Sewer Improvement Work Scheduled June 12–14

The City is continuing important sewer infrastructure improvements on 8th Street between Market Street and Harrison Street.

Beginning Friday, June 12 at 7:00 p.m., crews will perform Cast-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) sewer lining work along this corridor between Markey and Mission Streets. Work is scheduled to continue around the clock through Sunday, June 14 at 7:00 p.m.

What to Expect

• Crews will be working 24 hours a day throughout the weekend to complete the sewer lining operation.
• Residents and businesses may notice minor noise from small surface crews and equipment.
• No excavation, digging, or trench work is required for this process.
• Access to homes and businesses will be maintained throughout the project.

CIPP lining is a trenchless construction method that rehabilitates existing sewer pipes from within, helping extend the life of critical infrastructure while minimizing disruption to the neighborhood.

This work will be performed by Ronan Construction, Inc. on behalf of SF Public Works.

Note: Construction schedules, dates and durations are subject to change due to rain, equipment breakdown, unforeseen field conditions, existing utility conflicts, or crew availability.

• Clay Street between Polk Street and Hyde Street
• Clay Street between Hyde Street and Jones Street
• Larkin Street between Sacramento Street and Jackson Street
• Leavenworth Street between McAllister Street and Bush Street
• Golden Gate Avenue between Jones Street and Taylor Street
• Clementina Street between 3rd Street and Kaplan Street
• 7th Street between Mission Street and Market Street
• 8th Street between Folsom Street and Mission Street
• Harrison Street between 8th Street and 9th Street * Overnight work (four consecutive nights)
