San Francisco Public Works has partnered with Bay Area Light Works, Inc. to upgrade traffic signal infrastructure at 14 intersections across San Francisco. The scope of work will include excavation at some of the intersections, new traffic pole installation and electrical conduit work. Some intersections will also include curb ramp installation.
Western Addition Traffic Signals Project

San Francisco Public Works has partnered with SFMTA to upgrade traffic signal infrastructure at 16 intersections in the Western Addition Neighborhood. The scope of work includes wiring, Pedestrian Countdown Signals (PCS), Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS) pushbuttons, vehicular signal heads, poles and mast-arms, and signal controllers. Additionally, curb ramp work, sidewalk work, curb and gutter work, median work, and local base repair and paving work is included in this contract.
Contract No. 65 New Traffic Signals
San Francisco Public Works has partnered with SFMTA to improve safety at several intersections throughout the city. Contract No. 65 New Traffic Signals will add new traffic signals at 8 key intersections.
Alemany Interchange Improvement Project
Alemany Blvd., under the Highway 280 and 101 interchange, is a heavily trafficked and auto-dominated street associated with off-ramps and on-ramps. The Alemany Interchange Improvement Project will bring imperative improvements to the safety, accessibility and aesthetic qualities of Alemany Blvd. Pedestrians travel the area between San Bruno Avenue and the northern side of Alemany (aka The Farmer’s Market) on a regular basis.

Lombard Street Vision Zero Project
Traffic Advisory: Caltrans Bay Area has scheduled daytime lane closures from Monday, March 15, 2021 through July 2021, Monday through Friday on U.S. 101 Lombard Street between U.S. 101 Van Ness Ave and Lyon Street for a series of roadway improvements.

Inner Sunset Streetscape Improvements Project and Muni Forward Project
Project Background
Construction of the Inner Sunset Streetscape Improvement project began September 2017, after years of collaboration between city agencies and community partners. The two-year construction project, will improve the N Judah service, beautify nearby neighborhoods and make the streets more livable, vibrant and sustainable.
The project is a partnership between the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), Public Works (SFPW) and the Public Utility Commission (SFPUC). The work under this contract consists of transit bulb-outs; curb ramps; sewer replacement; landscape improvements; electrical work; water line replacement and street paving along Irving Street between Arguello Boulevard and 19th Avenue, 9th Avenue between Irving and Judah streets, and 10th Avenue between Irving and Judah streets.
Additionally, streetscape improvements will occur at the existing transit bulb-outs in Cole Valley at Carl and Cole streets, as well as Carl and Stanyan streets.
The project is focused on improving the quality of life of the Inner Sunset and Cole Valley neighborhoods by upgrading existing infrastructure. Multiple improvements are incorporated into the project in order to avoid further disruptions and service shutdowns.
