DPW OFFERING TOURS OF PROJECTS IN CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL PUBLIC WORKS WEEK 




SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The Department of Public Works (DPW) is celebrating National Public Works Week (May 16-22) by offering the public free tours of major public works projects.

National Public Works Week is celebrated across the country the third week of May every year to call attention to the importance of public works projects, programs and services in our communities. This is an ideal time to celebrate with our many DPW partners, with whom our many successes this year would not be possible. We will also be showcasing the importance of public works in the lives of all San Franciscans and celebrate our heroes at DPW who serve the public with pride, skill and responsiveness.

The public is invited to take advantage of this once-a-year opportunity and check out the inner workings of DPW and partnering agencies through these free tours led by project managers, architects, engineers, and other DPW staff:

Sunnyside Conservatory

Monday, May 17 at Noon

Monterey & Baden streets

The Street Parks of San Francisco

Tuesday, May 18 at Noon

California College of the Arts-1111 8th Street 

 

Branch Library Improvements

Wednesday, May 19 at Noon

Meet at Eureka Branch Library at Market at 16th streets

 

The Bridges of San Francisco County

Thursday, May 20 at 12 noon and 6:00 pm

Third Street Bridge at Third and King streets

 

Laguna Honda Hospital Tour
