CITY TO KICKOFF WATER EFFICIENCY AND CONSERVATION PARTNERSHIP

Sunset Boulevard green space improvements to reduce water consumption by up to seven million gallons per year

San Francisco – District Four Supervisor Carmen Chu, the Department of Public Works (DPW), and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) invite you to a groundbreaking for the Sunset Boulevard median project.

Funded by a grant from the Large Landscape Program of the SFPUC, and implemented by DPW, the Sunset Boulevard project will renovate an aging irrigation system and replant the median with climate appropriate plants, saving as much as seven million gallons of water each year.

This project is the first in the City to be approved under the recently enacted Water Efficient Irrigation Ordinance for San Francisco.
