Construction Begins for Scheduled Repaving and Infrastructure Repairs to Mission Street

CONSTRUCTION BEGINS FOR SCHEDULED REPAVING AND INFRASTRUCTURE REPAIRS TO MISSION STREET
SFMTA to reroute the #14, 14L and 49 Mission Muni lines
San Francisco- The San Francisco Department of Public Works (DPW), the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) are collaborating to expedite scheduled infrastructure repairs along Mission Street between 16th Street and Cesar Chavez, which will result in reroutes of three Mission Muni lines beginning this weekend.
On Saturday, March 3rd, Muni will begin to reroute the 14 Mission, 14L Mission Limited and 49 Mission/Van Ness buses from Mission Street to South Van Ness between 14th and 26th streets. In addition, minor reroutes to other Inner Mission buses will be required from time to time. The temporary bus routes will remain in place for the duration of the project (approximately six months). Mission Street will remain open to traffic, however delays are possible. Sidewalk and driveway access will be maintained during construction.
Starting Monday, March 5th, DPW and the PUC will begin infrastructure improvements along Mission Street. The PUC will replace the existing water main from 17th Street to 21st Street. DPW will repave Mission Street between 16th Street and Cesar Chavez. DPW will also install curb ramps where necessary at intersections along Mission Street between 16th and 21st streets.
