In 1930, San Francisco voters approved a charter amendment to increase taxes for the construction of the Anza Branch Library. Built on the site of the former Lafayette School, the new branch was designed and landscaped by architect John Reid, Jr. The library was dedicated on April 10, 1932, with 11,823 new books on its shelves. The total cost for the building and furnishings was $57,117. Anza became the 17th branch in the San Francisco Public Library system. The branch temporarily closed for renovation in May 2009.

San Francisco — San Francisco Public Works and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) will use a high-tech mapping system to conduct the most complete survey yet of Market Street’s building facades, light poles, BART station portals, sidewalks, fire hydrants and other street features and utilities.

The visual mapping survey is the first step toward doing detailed design work for the Better Market Street project, allowing the team to move from conceptual to detailed designs and then on to construction to improve San Francisco’s premier corridor.

In 2007 the Divisadero community, in coordination with Public Works, Municipal Transportation Agency and Mayor's Office of Economic & Workforce Development, created a vision for the Divisadero corridor between Haight Street and Geary Boulevard.
