Notice is hereby given that the Director of Public Works will hold a remote public hearing via teleconference to consider the item(s) listed below and that said public hearing will be held as follows:

2. Public Comment

Members of the public may address the hearing officer on matters that are within the department’s jurisdiction but not on today’s agenda.

3. Hearing Order 210700 

To consider the removal of one (1) Landmark tree located in the front yard property of 2694 McAllister Street. The tree is dead and Article 16 requires except in the case of manifest danger and immediate necessity, landmark trees on private property shall be removed only after the Director's determination and issuance of a permit, following a public hearing.

4. Hearing Order 210702

This order supersedes order 210701. To consider the removal of six (6) street trees with replacement adjacent to 400-500 Castro St. Staff approved the removal and the public protested.

Public Works hearings are held through videoconferencing and will provide for remote public comment.

Persons unable to participate in the videoconference may submit written comments regarding the subject matter to Bureau of Urban Forestry at 49 South Van Ness Ave. Suite 1000, San Francisco CA., 94103 or urbanforestry@sfdpw.org. Comments received before the hearing will be brought to the attention of the hearing officer and made a part of the official public record.

PowerPoint files, documents and photo images in their presentations - must send the materials to Cerise Waiters via email at cerise.waiters@sfdpw.org and urbanforestry@sfdpw.org by 5 p.m. one business day before the hearing. If attendees access the webinar via a computer, they will be able to share documents themselves via the “share screen” functionality.

Personal information that is provided in communications to Public Works is subject to disclosure under the California Public Records Act and the San Francisco Sunshine Ordinance. Personal information provided will not be redacted. Members of the public are not required to provide personal identifying information when they communicate with Public Works. All written or oral communications that members of the public submit to the department regarding projects or hearings will be made available to all members of the public for inspection and copying. The department does not redact any information from these submissions. This means that personal information including names, phone numbers, addresses and similar information that a member of the public elects to submit to the department may appear in public documents that members of the public may inspect or copy.
