The City & County of San Francisco has an ongoing program of replacing aging sewer mains with new vitrified clay sewer mains. Replacing these aging pipes now will prevent possible collapse of the sewer lines and pavement in the future. Sewer service will not be interrupted during construciton. San Francisco Public Works has contracted with Precision Engineering, Inc. to begin work under contract No. 2731J to perform: pavement renovation, sewer main replacement, localized base repair, concrete panel reconstruction, ADA curb ramp construction, AWSS work, electrical work, settlement monitoring, traffic routing, upgrading traffic signals at the intersection of Leavenworth Street, Bay Street and all associated work on Filbert Street from Baker Street to Leavenworth Street and on Leavenworth Street from Filbert Street to Jefferson Street.

Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday. (Weekend work is allowed but not expected at this time.)
Traffic Impact: Traffic may be temporarily delayed at times as a result of intersection and lane closures necessary to perform the work. Streets will be posted 72 hours in advance of work, with “No Parking / Tow Away” signs to alert the public of the construction and parking restrictions. Vehicles parked on the street during construction work hours will be towed at the vehicle owner’s expense. You may park in your drive way as long as your vehicle does not obstruct the public right of way. Access to sidewalks and driveways will be maintained at all times, however delays may be possible while crews create a path for your vehicle. Please allow extra travel time during construction.
Construction Updates and Schedule Forecast*:
June 28, 2019: The project has reached substantial completion and all final paving activity has been completed. Crews will address any remaining punch-list activity over the next few weeks and close out the project.
Week of June 17, 2019: Crews will complete remaining culvert work at Leavenworth and North Point. Crews will also begin paving activity at the intersection of Filbert and Webster and on Filbert, between Larkin to Hyde on Monday, June 17. Crews will grind the roadway one day, and follow with paving the next. Crews will then begin paving activity on Leavenworth, between North Point to Chestnut starting Wednesday, June 19.
Week of June 24, 2019: Crews will begin paving activity on Leavenworth, between Columbus to Jefferson starting on Monday, June 24.
