How the Fair impacts residents:

  • Avoid Towing! Important Parking Notices! Please respect tow away signs. Do not park in spaces with tow away signs for March 14 or your car may be towed.
  • Increased foot and vehicle traffic expected at the 300 block of Francisco St (Francisco St between Powell St and Stockton St) on Saturday, March 14 from 6 AM – 2 PM.
  • To celebrate Arbor Day, 100 street trees will be planted by SF Public Works staff and volunteers on March 14. This will expand the tree canopy, bringing you clean air, providing habitat for birds and butterflies, and reducing storm-water runoff.

Who should I contact if my car was towed?

  • The SFMTA is responsible for removing illegally parked and abandoned vehicles from city streets. A vehicle which is parked in a tow away zone will be towed to one of the City and County of San Francisco Impound facilities.
  • Towed? Call 415-865-8200. Be ready to provide your license plate number, vehicle description, suspected tow date, and location.

Where will the street trees be planted?

  • 100 street trees will be planted in District 3. Affected neighborhoods include the Lower Nob Hill, Nob Hill, and North Beach.
  • Community outreach took place from May 2025 to October 2025. The 100 tree sites were chosen and inspected as early as October 2025. Then stumps were grinded and sites were prepped for the big day. Tree inspectors chose trees that would fit the neighborhood, microclimate, existing trees, and bus lines. Unfortunately, it is too late to add more tree sites at this point.
  • 23 different species of trees will be planted, including Chitalpa tashkentensis, Laurus nobilis, Laurus nobilis Saratoga, Callistemon viminalis, and Lyonothamnus floribundus asplenifolius.
  • See below for a preliminary map of planting sites.

Can kids go on bucket truck rides? Is there an age limit?

  • All adults and children must wear safety harnesses before taking bucket truck rides. Then SF Public Works staff will doublecheck the harness to ensure that it’s put on properly.
  • There will be kid-sized safety harnesses available. Therefore, there isn’t a set age limit. Children must be able to fit the safety harnesses properly in order to take bucket truck rides.
  • Up to 3 people can ride a bucket truck at a time, such as a parent/guardian and 2 small children.
