The Sixth Street Pedestrian Safety Project will create a safe and inviting place for people to get around on 6th Street. Public Works is partnering with the SFMTA to design and build this important project which will include streetscape elements including sidewalk widening, corner bulb-outs, pedestrian scale lighting, and signalized pedestrian crossings. The project will also include the installation of new street trees and reflect the neighborhood identity through paving and street furnishing. With input from the community, San Francisco Public Works and SFMTA will integrate community expressions into enhancing safety and walkability.
