Pavement and Sewer Renovation

San Francisco Public Works has hired Precision Engineering, Inc. to construct new curb ramps at intersections throughout San Francisco. This project will include demolishing existing curb ramps & curbs, constructing new, ADA-compliant curb ramps and reconstructing adjacent areas of the sidewalk and curb lane.Work will be taking place at the following intersections:

Project Description

San Francisco Public Works and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission have partnered to complete infrastructure improvements on Junipero Serra Blvd. as part of the Junipero Serra Boulevard Pavement Renovation & Sewer Replacement Project. The project limits are Junipero Serra Boulevard between Sloat Blvd. and 19th Avenue. Our partnership allows us to minimize impacts to the public by consolidating our work whenever possible.
 

San Francisco Public Works has contracted with R&S Construction, Inc. to install new sewer utilities and renovate the roadway at various locations in San Francisco District 3 as part of the Various Locations Pavement Renovation and Sewer Replacement No. 51 Project. 
 

Work locations include:

Project Update January 2025

• R&S Construction will pour the sidewalk at Cesar Chavez St & Sanchez St on Monday January 13th, completing all work at this intersection. 

• We are in our punch-list phase of this project.  By the end of this month there will not be any major construction on this project. 

   

Project Updates - April 1, 2024 

South VanNess (Mission to Howard)

• 4/3/24-  Roadway paving (Southbound) in the slow and middle-lanes
• 4/4/24-  Roadway paving (Northbound) slow and middle-lanes
• 4/5/24-  Roadway paving (north and southbound) fast lanes

Project Update November through December 2023
Our contractor is scheduled to do pavement restoration on Genoa Place (Filbert to Union) sometime between 12/4 and 12/6, weather dependent. This street calls for concrete pavement, which will require about a 7-day cure time once fully placed. During the curing time, Genoa Place will remain closed to vehicular traffic and Varennes Street will be converted into a reversable lane during the weekdays and times as before.  For additional questions and coordination please contact Public Works at 628-271-2245.

All work on this contract is almost complete. The contractor continues punch list work on this project. We anticipate the punch list work to be complete in June 2024.
 

Project Description

Our partnership allows us to minimize impacts to the public by consolidating our work whenever possible. This project will include sewer main replacement/rehabilitation, curb ramp installation, street base repairs, grinding (removal of existing asphalt) and repaving and concrete street reconstruction.
